If someone is declaring self harm - Call The RCMP - Call 911 - Call the helpline.
The person may be in a depressive state and if fielded by depression, anger, drugs or alcohol it makes the depressive state worse.
Don’t be embarrassed, or feel as though it’s an obligation to “keep it quiet!” , that is not your concern - Your concern will be: “Are you safe!”
The person may not be able to think about the bigger picture - they may only see sadness and hollowness, they may only see and feel pain.
Suicide is not be the answer, but at that moment -it’s the only answer they know within that exact moment.
If suicide is declared to “get their way”, or out of anger and you are afraid, because the declaration has been made, I encourage you to call additional help.
Declaring self harm - is Declaring self harm.
There is no shame in asking for additional help. We aren’t weak, because we ask for help, we are stronger FOR asking!
The person receives the additional help , whether it is someone neutral to talk to or a Counselor. This is too big for one person to handle.
Lets stop the stigma, Lets Start talking
Lets keep talking!
We know all too well, we can not take this lightly!
