Gift of Time | May 31, 2020 👓
We know time doesn’t stand still for no one, no matter how hard we try to hang on to that one precious moment, it begins to so slip away the exact moment it occurs.
I remember as a child I would be sitting at Mamma’s feet as she was beading and I would watch as she sewed. One bead at a time from a container of mixed size 10 beads. She would give me a tablespoon full of beads on a white cloth, as a variety of beads sat in front of me, I would separate the beads from the colours around it.
I would watch her as she strung the beads on her thread and sew them on the vamp, she would methodically choose colours and the designs would magically appear. I recall her designs, patterns and even hear her humming her songs.
I sit here and navigate what would seem as though I run out of time at the end of each day. Im trying to sort the beads out, and place them accordingly and some days it is not enough. I’ve run my course for the day, and my bead jar is almost empty and I haven’t chosen my favorite.
As we wake up, and navigate our morning routine, I have a window of opportunity to take one or two favorite beads for me. It is in that small amount of time I know, the gift of time is amazing, no matter how great or small, because the gift of time is the greatest thing we can share, and if we can share it with value to ourselves, then we know we can share it with others.
For now - I know you are enough, and so am I.
